St. Augustine Surf School | St. Augustine + Jacksonville Photographer

I signed my 7 year old for surf camp this summer, and it did not disappoint! Tomorrow is the last day (PLEASE do not rain!!) and I'm already looking forward to doing it again next year! I am so not a morning person but I can wake up for this (and I mean, camp starts at 9am - it's not like sunrise or anything crazy, but again, not a morning person lol). It's just so fun and peaceful and exciting all rolled into one. It really has felt like a little get away here in our own town. All the kids have caught waves which is awesome. I cannot say enough good about St. Augustine Surf School. Not only do they run the coolest ever summer camp ever, but they were patient with my daughter on the first day when her nerves got the best of her. And they have continued to be too kind to me and my crazy toddler crew as we tailgate the tide pools every day. It's really just been the perfect way to kick off summer!

This momma and sweet friend is the person who introduced me to the world of home birth years ago, so needless to say I owe her a lot. When I showed up at her house for the birth I remember thinking she had a while left - she was so calm and present. Jokes on me because her third little lady joined us shortly after I arrived. It was so sweet watching her older kids huddled with grandma watching in anticipation of their new sibling while her sisters supported her through her labor. The sisterhood was strong on all fronts and it was so special to witness.

I had the honor of documenting Jen's home birth a few months ago. It was so adorable and inspiring to see how present her children were in the birth. And what a calm mom Jen was to her children - both inside and out of her womb. Jen is a doula and the owner of Mumda. I would not be the least bit surprised if her children grow up and enter the birth world too :) She had a large support team and it was really beautiful to see so much love in one home. Her midwife was one of my dearest friends and all around awesome human - Jacinda Golden of River City Homebirth. Loved being at a birth with such a birth loving bunch!
