How much does a family session cost?

My family sessions are $300 for up for 5 people and $25/person for each additional person. Within two weeks of the session you'll get digital proofing gallery. From that gallery you'll select your 5 favorite images and those will be delivered as high resolution digital files. What is lifestyle Photography?

Lifestyle photography means different things to different people. For me it means capturing the in-between moments - the more candid shots. The smirk, the eye roll. The tiny details that are fast to fade from our memories. I shoot primarily families with small children, which I adore because those little people haven't typically developed the self-conscious tendencies we carry later in life. It also generally means fake smiles and a refusal to look directly at the camera when prompted. If you want pictures of your kids smiling - you do things that make them smile and you will get pictures you'll cherish. Kids these days are well used to camera phones and the prompted 'look at me and say cheese' - and while there are some kids that love the camera and know how to work it - they are not the majority. So while I strive to get the typical posed shots - I don't stress the kids and parents out trying to get the perfectly posed shot when there is plenty of beauty to be found in the in-between.

What should we wear to our session?

Avoid clothes with words or logos on them as they distract from the people in the images. Also avoid neon colors as they leave a color cast on anyone near them. I have wardrobe and color combination idea boards on my pintrest page - you can find that here. 

How long until we get our images back?

You should have your gallery of proofs within 2-3 weeks of your session. 

Can I have the unedited/ RAW images from the session.

I do not deliver unedited images. A big part of my art is my editing process. If you would like to see some editing samples / read more on my process you can do that here. 

Can you Photoshop me?

Photoshop is an amazing tool. I use it to enhance the colors of photos, remove people and objects from the background of your images, and remove that scratch that baby got on his face before the shoot. I do not airbrush or 'nip and tuck' as I believe in telling the real story of your family. I will remove bumps bruises and the pimple that showed up the night before you session. General rule of thumb- if it will be present on your body in two+ weeks I leave it. You can see before and after edit samples here. 

How long are your sessions?

Aside from mini sessions I don't set time limits for my shoots. Some kids take a long time to warm up, other kids are over it fast. We will take as much or as little time as we need to ensure we get great shots. Sessions are, on average, 35/40 min.

Do you offer mini sessions? I only need one picture of us.

I offer mini sessions in April at the Flower Fields and on select dates in the fall. My mini sessions are back to back and are 20 minutes and include 5 digital downloads from your proof gallery. I do not offer single image sessions. 

Do you photograph weddings?

I do not. However I know of some seriously talented wedding photographers in town. Shoot me an email and I'll connect you :)
